AVONDALE, Arizona – January 2, 2014 – Estrella Mountain Community College (EMCC) is hosting a free open house on Thursday, January 9 to help build-up the workforce pipeline in the industrial skills sector. It is scheduled for 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the EMCC campus located at 3000 N. Dysart Rd., Avondale, Arizona, in the SouthWest Skill Center building.
The open house will provide information about industrial-based training and career options in distribution logistics, industrial electronics, power plant technology and precision manufacturing. These short-term job training programs lead to careers in industries with some of the most critically needed workforce, locally and nationally.
The Industrial Electronics Technology and Power Plant Technology programs offer national certifications and credentials relative to their specific industries. The Distribution Logistic program was developed uniquely for EMCC based on the workforce needs of companies located in the Southwest Valley, due to the many distribution centers located along the I-10 corridor coming from Los Angeles. The Power Plant Technology program is part of Get Into Energy initiative developed in partnership with all major energy providers in Arizona.
