EMCC seeks employers for Job, Internship and Volunteer Expo

AVONDALE, Arizona – Each semester, the Career and Transfer Center (CTC) at Estrella Mountain Community College (EMCC) hosts a Job Expo to provide a professional venue for employers to connect with college students pursuing career information and opportunities. This year, the CTC has opened up the playing field for both participating employers and for the EMCC students.

EMCC is seeking businesses, companies and organizations of all sizes to participate in this vibrant exchange of employment conversations with students in vast array of career paths.

This will be the first year we are inviting non-profits with volunteer positions to take part in the expo,” says Landis Elliott, EMCC Manager of Internships. “We are working on establishing those relationships for a fall roll out of a new Service Learning initiative that expands these opportunities for our students.”

For the students, the expanded job expo will provide connections to businesses and organizations offering internships, job shadowing, volunteer opportunities, and of course full- and part-time positions.

The Spring 2015 Expo will be held on Wednesday, April 1, from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m., on the EMCC campus located at 3000 N. Dysart in Avondale. Vendor spaces are free and limited. Application forms are available at www.estrellamountain.edu/expo, and must be received by March 20. For more information, contact [email protected] or 623-935-8220.
