President of Estrella Mountain Community College, Dr. Ernie Lara, received the West Valley Foundation's Diversity Award at the 2014 Cesar Chavez Breakfast on March 28, 2014.
Several individuals were recognized at the event for their contributions to diversity in the small business community, education community, and overall in the West Valley.
The West Valley Foundation was a part of the Glendale Chamber of Commerce until 2011, when it branched off as a separate organization to concentrate on developing a more West Valley–wide effort to provide diversity awareness and education. The Annual Cesar Chavez breakfast is the organization’s signature event, and sponsorships raise funds for diversity education and programs in the West Valley.
