Dr. Kathleen Iudicello has emerged as the successful candidate for the permanent position of Dean, Academic Affairs at Estrella Mountain Community College (EMCC) after an exhaustive national search process. In August 2013, Iudicello was appointed with a one-year-only (OYO) reassignment to fill the vacancy left by Dean Joyce Jackson who retired in June 2013.
During her term as interim dean, Iudicello co-authored a Title V grant submission, worked with facilities personnel to determine interior aspects of EMCC's new Performing Arts Center (PAC), led faculty in establishing programming for the PAC, secured budgets in various units supporting college-wide programming resulting in the remodel of spaces to support the Center for Teaching & Learning (CTL), a fiscally responsible way to support learning communities, and negotiated various agreements to improve communication and collaboration between and among all employees as well as external constituents.
Iudicello will also continue to provide leadership for the Divisions of Arts and Composition, Behavioral Science and Cultural Studies, and Modern Languages. Also under her leadership are the Center for Teaching and Learning, E-learningprogramming, the Learning Enhancement Center, and Instructional Support Services.
