Enrollment opens for Industrial programs. Start Jan. 20

The Industrial Skills programs, offered through the SouthWest Skill Center at Estrella Mountain Community College, have announced that enrollment is now open for the Distribution Logistics Technician and the Industrial Electronics Technology programs. These are short-term, job-training programs intended to prepare graduates with fast, employable skills. Both start January 20, 2015.

Distribution Logistics Technician

* Complete in 3 months:  Jan. 20 - Apr. 30, 2015

* Evening classes Mon. - Thurs., 6 - 9 pm

* Certificate of Completion

* G.I. Bill eligible

* A Distribution Technician is responsible for receiving, storing, and distribution of materials, equipment and products. You’ll also be responsible for inbound inventory control. Technicians also work with material handling equipment, the scanner and computer. Distribution Logistic Technicians are employed in a wide variety of areas, such as transport, warehousing,shipping and receiving, government entities, etc.

Industrial Electronics Technology

* Complete in 8 months:  Jan. 20 - Aug. 14, 2015

* Day classes Mon. - Thurs., 8 am - 3 pm

* Certificate of Completion

* Financial Aid and G.I. Bill eligible

* An Industrial Electronics Technician troubleshoots and repairs electrical/electronic equipment found in manufacturing and other industrial facilities.
