EMCC English faculty member, Dr. Carlotta Abrams, was the emcee and host for the 2015 “An evening with a King,” Dinner on January 15, held at the City of Peoria Community Center.
The 20th annual tribute event was presented by the Northwest Black History Committee (NBHC) and included dignitaries, keynote presentation by Channel 12 news anchor Kim Covington, a musical performance and community service recognition.
The NBHC is gearing up for the 2015 Multicultural Music Festival April 25 and 26 in downtown Peoria. The early lineup includes, The Floaters, Willie Clayton, Tierra, Latin All Stars and a mega headliner to be announced soon.
