Estrella Mountain's 10-Year Accreditation Draws Near

AVONDALE, Ariz. - Estrella Mountain Community College is seeking 10-year accreditation with The Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. The rigorous accreditation process includes submission of a lengthy application, a self-evaluation that was conducted by EMCC staff over the past two years, and a site visit by accreditation evaluators in February. The evaluation process assists the college in determining its strengths and identifying current and future challenges.

Estrella Mountain received its initial 5-year accreditation from the Commission in 1997. Currently, EMCC is pursuing 10-year accreditation, the longest granted by the Commission. For more information on EMCC's evaluation process, visit www.emc.maricopa.edu/nca
