Opportunities Abound at Estrella Mountain's Annual Career/Job Fair

AVONDALE, Ariz. - Come prepared to explore a variety of employment opportunities at Estrella Mountain Community College's Ninth Annual Career/Job Fair on Thursday, March 28 from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. More than one hundred businesses, organizations and schools will be on hand to discuss the skills, education, and experience necessary to compete in today's job market. The free fair will take place in the EMCC Ceremonial Plaza and is open to the public.

Midwestern University, the City of Phoenix Police Department, the U.S. Coast Guard and UPS are just a few of the companies confirmed. Job seekers should be prepared with a current resume, although one is not required-as some employers conduct on-site interviews. Technology, education, health care and retail are a sample of the occupational fields to be represented. Last year's event yielded approximately 800 participants, some of whom left with new jobs.

A special activity, "Highlight on Careers", is part of this year's event. With a focus on technical training, representatives from APS and EMCC's Cisco Academy will provide career information. APS will present information about their maintenance internships, while Cisco will inform about opportunities and training necessary for networking careers.
