Opportunities Abound at Estrella Mountain's Annual Career/Job Fair

AVONDALE, Ariz. - Come prepared to explore a variety of employment and career options at Estrella Mountain Community College's 10th Annual Career/Job Fair on Thursday, March 27 from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. More than 50 businesses, organizations and schools will be on hand to discuss the skills, education, and experience necessary to compete in today's job market. The free fair will take place in the EMCC Ceremonial Plaza and is open to the public.

Fed Ex Ground, the Phoenix Police Department, the Surprise Police Department, ASU Extended Campus and Costco Wholesale (101 & McDowell) are just a few of the companies confirmed to date. Job opportunities in the West Valley are increasingly becoming available as economic development surges, a trend that will become evident as the career fair date moves closer.

Job seekers should be prepared with a current resume, although one is not required-as some employers conduct on-site interviews. Technology, education, health care and retail are a sample of the occupational fields to be represented. Last year's event yielded approximately 800 participants, some of whom left with new jobs.

A special activity, "Highlight on Careers", is part of this year's event. The activity will focus on careers in the sciences. In addition, three free credit-hours will be raffled.

This event is sponsored by Estrella Mountain Community College, the EMCC Cisco Networking Academy, the SouthWest Skill Center and Maricopa Workforce Connections.
