Estrella Mountain Offers Free Depression Screenings During National Depression Screening Day (NDSD)

Avondale, Ariz. - The Estrella Mountain Community College Counseling Division will be offering free, confidential depression screenings to the public, October 9, from noon to 6 p.m.on a walk-in basis. The college is a registered site through the Mental Health Assocation of Arizona and serves as the only West Valley location for the screenings. To have a screening performed, participants need to check in at the Welcome Center located in Komatke Hall. Services are available in both English and Spanish.

National Depression Screening Day is held each year during Mental Illness Awareness Week and is designed to call attention to the illnesses of depression; educate the public about signs, syptoms and effective treatments; offer screenings and connect those in need of treatment to the proper resources.
