Community Education Courses Provide Opportunity for Continuous Learning with Late Start Classes

Avondale, Ariz. - If you had plans to take a non-credit course or a course for personal enrichment and missed the start of the Fall semester, don't worry. Estrella Mountain Community College offers late start courses, beginning in November, as part of its Learning for Life community education program.

Cake Decorating, Mondays, November 10 & 17, 7:15 - 9:15 p.m.Learn how to make "decorator" frosting, borders, flowers and how to torte and fill a cake in this two-part class. A student decorating kit (available at any Michael's craft store) and a smooth-frosted cake are the main items needed to begin. Cost: $20 plus materials

Yoga Kundalini, Thursdays, November 13- December 18, 8 - 9:30 p.m.This five-week Kundalini Yoga class combines mental focus, breathing techniques, postures, mantras, relaxation and meditation. The instructor is an international certified Kundalini Yoga instructor. This class is self-pace and participants should dress comfortably. Cost: $49.

How to Build Real Wealth Through Debt Elimination, Monday, November 1, 6 - 9 p.m.This one-day workshop details ways to achieve financial freedom by eliminating debt. Participants will learn how to handle emergency money needs, pay cash for their next car and build real wealth for self, family and retirement. Cost: $19 plus materials and a friend can register for free.

OSHA in the Medical Establishment, Thursday, November 13, 5:30 - 9:30 p.m.Medical and dental offices are required to comply with various OSHA regulations. These include blood borne pathogens and hazard communication standards. This four-hour class aims to provide office managers and safety officers with information needed to comply with OSHA. Cost: free.

Excel for Windows, Tuesday & Thursday, November 18 & 20, 1:30 - 4:30 p.m.Learn basic spreadsheet techniques such as entering data, editing, enhanced format, creating formulas, range editing, functions, charts and printing in this two-part course. Cost: $36.

Energy of Stones & Crystals, Tuesdays, November 18 & 25Based on the study and results of the uses of stones and crystals, learn how to apply information from this class to experiences in your everyday life. This class promises to be fun, interactive and knowledgeable. Cost is $25 and allows you to register a friend for free.
