EMCC School Note: EMCC's Nasa Center Prepares for Summer Scholars

The Nasa Center for Success in Math & Science at Estrella Mountain Community College continues to grow and is preparing to accommodate more than 90 high school sophomores, juniors and seniors during its Math & ScienceSummer Scholars Program.

With classes beginning June 1, the program's goal is to stimulate pre-college student interest in science, technology, engineering and math and to help students prepare to enter an institution of higher education and pursue careers in these fields.

Tuition for the program is free and students can earn up to 27 transferable credit hours. The students, who were selected from an application process in February, and their parents will gather with Math and Science faculty and former program participants for an overview of program goals and expectations on Thursday, April 22 from 6 - 7:30 p.m. in the Estrella Hall Community Room. For more information, contact Dr. Doris Pugh at 623.935.8487.

Estrella Mountain Community College is a Maricopa Community College.
