Estrella Mountain Announces Free October 16 Career Expo at Glendale Arena

October 1, 2004?Estrella Mountain Community College and the SouthWest Skill Center invite all West Valley residents to participate in a free, large-scale Career and Technical Education Career Expo, on Saturday, October 16, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m, at the Glendale Arena, 9400 W. Maryland Ave. The Expo provides all Valley residents with an opportunity to meet prospective employers and learn about numerous, educational and job-training options at Estrella Mountain Community College, SouthWest Skill Center and more. Visitors can participate in information sessions focusing on job-search tips, interviewing techniques, r¨¦sum¨¦writing, and pathways for specific, in-demand careers. The Expo features more than 150 exhibitors, including Arizona Public Service, Banner Health, MCI, Washington Mutual Bank, WESTMARC, Estrella Mountain Community College, and the SouthWest Skill Center as well as other Maricopa Community Colleges. Visitors of all ages can have take part in learning about job opportunities in all industries, workshops, demonstrations, and guest speakers, as well as delicious gourmet snacks provided by Culinary Arts students, visual displays by local police and fire departments, and a fashion show featuring the latest "Dress for Success" attire. Participation in this event is a continuing part of Estrella Mountain Community College's commitment to workforce development in the West Valley.
