Estrella Mountain Audiovisual Tech 'Loses His Hair' Over a Good Cause

Estrella Mountain audiovisual technician Dave Topping has agreed to sell $5.00 raffle tickets to raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. The prize? The lucky winner will get the sought-after chance to chop 10 inches off of Topping's long dark hair, all of which will be donated to Locks of Love, an organization that utilizes donated human hair to create life-like wigs for children and adults who've lost their hair due to chemotherapy and radiation treatments. The college will also host an information session at 12:00 pm in the Center for Teaching and Learning, to create awareness and encourage community involvement for these deadly diseases that affect thousands and thousands of persons each year, including children. The long-awaited haircutting will occur at 1:00 pm in Ceremonial Plaza.

The events are sponsored by the Professional Staff Association of Estrella Mountain, in a continuing dedication of employee commitment to community causes. For more information about the event, call 623.935.8829. To learn more about leukemia and lymphoma, visit www.leukemia-lymphoma.org.
