Estrella Mountain Celebrates Success of First Media Arts Camp

This summer offered another first, as the college opened its Media Arts Camp, a summer bridge program for West Valley high school students connecting artistic talent and vision with small business in the West Valley looking for assistance in marketing, advertising, and even web design. The students, primarily from Agua Fria High School, worked in teams to develop customized websites, brochures and other materials for business ranging from construction to hair salons. Each of the groups of students presented their final projects, all of which exhibited an impressive level of skill, creativity and collaboration with business that no doubt saw immediate results in their expanded marketing efforts. But this program didn't end there. These students will continue their studies through dual enrollment at their own high school, before returning to the college for a second summer program in 2007, gearing them up for entrance into the college upon graduation..
