Total Success: Body, Mind and Spirit

Welcome Week at Estrella Mountain Community College (EMCC), will present new and returning students with an important message: EMCC wants its students to have not only educational success, but total success. This year's theme for New Student Orientation and Welcome Week is "Total Success: Body, Mind and Spirit."

Welcome Week, August 20-24, 2007, will offer students several opportunities to get involved and learn about what EMCC has to offer. The week's events will encompass fun and informative sessions to entertain and teach students about the programs available at EMCC.

There will be informational booths set up throughout the campus, including campus and fitness center tours - bringing the "Body and Spirit" into this year's motto. EMCC's fitness center is now offering non-credit open workout courses for students and the community. Full-time students pay only $20 per semester and part-time students pay $40-$80 per semester depending on the number of credit hours they are taking. Community members pay only $92 per semester and corporate discounts are also available. Fitness Center users have access to six instructors who have experience ranging from nutrition to overall wellness. "We want to focus on all aspects of the student experience," said Lyle Bartelt, manager of fitness and wellness.

For more information about the fitness center or Welcome Week, contact Lyle Bartelt, manager of fitness and wellness at 623-935-8405.
