EMCC has announced a new and innovative partnership between Estrella Mountain and Ottawa University. Advisors and teachers will be on the EMCC campus to answer student questions. This partnership allows EMCC students to complete their entire teaching degree on the EMCC campus. Students will pay three years of EMCC tuition and one year of Ottawa University tuition (charged at the lowest Arizona university rate) as opposed to two years at each institution.
What is the 3 + 1 program?
This is a 3-year at EMCC plus 1 year at Ottawa University program that will lead to an elementary or middle school teaching certificate.
Who should participate?
Any teaching candidate that is pursuing their elementary or middle school teaching certificate.
When? Ottawa coursework will start this March, after spring break. EMCC year 3 EDU courses will start in the fall of 2008. Advisors and teachers will be on campus Tuesday, February 12 and Wednesday February 20 from 8am-12pm and 1pm-5pm in the Ocotillo Conference Room.
