Estrella Mountain Community College (EMCC), a Maricopa Community College, will hosts its annual career fair on Wednesday, March 19, 2008, from 9:00am to 1:00pm, at its Avondale campus, located at 3000 North Dysart Road, on the northwest corner of Thomas and Dysart Roads.
The fair will feature valley businesses, agencies and schools with information about immediate employment, as well as long-term career options. Employers and schools attending the event include (but is not limited to) the Arizona Department of Corrections, Avondale and Phoenix Police Departments, ASU, Cox Communications, FIDM (Fashion Institute of Design Merchandising), SunTec Concrete, UPS, USAA, Wal-Mart and more. The college and other vendors will be giving prizes and seeking candidates for paid internships.
The event, which is free and open to the public, will also provide students and community members with an opportunity to learn more about financing their education, including scholarships, financial aid, and ways to overcome other obstacles to earning a degree and securing future career opportunities.
