Estrella Mountain Community College Offers Community Education Courses

Estrella Mountain Community College (EMCC), a Maricopa Community College, offers a variety of community education courses outside of the standard college curriculum. From arts and crafts, to business and occupational development, Estrella Mountain's community education program helps you get the educational tools you need to learn for life.

Featured Course: Two Young To Retire
Estrella Mountain Community College will offer Two Young To Retire: 101 Ways to Start the Rest of Your LifeĀ©, a summer community education series that begins on Thursday, August 14, 2008. The series will guide those of retirement age in exploring possibilities, choices and opportunities for their second phase of life. Participants will work in small groups to address key issues such as money, wellness, re-careering, small business opportunities, and community service. "The powerful, interactive learning experience will help participants clarify intentions, set goals and take action, while supporting other group members who share similar objectives," said Barbara Atkins, course instructor. The course is offered in six-week segments three times during the year: August 14-September 18, September 16-October 21, and October 30-December 11, from 6:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. on the Estrella Mountain campus in Montezuma Hall, room 132 (August 14 start session only, room TBD for subsequent sessions). The course is $89 with a $25.95 book fee (text and workbook).
