Artistry Unveiled Showcases Student Art and Performance

Estrella Mountain Community College (EMCC), a Maricopa Community College, will host "Artistry Unveiled," a new take on the college's annual Arts Extravaganza, on Wednesday, April 8, 2009 from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. in the college's Community Room, located at 3000 N. Dysart Road, in Avondale.

The event, which is free and open to the public, will showcase the artistic, musical and performance talents of the Estrella Mountain student body. Featuring a glow-in-the-dark fashion show, hosted by the college's Fashion Club; an open mic; music and dance performances; and student artwork from the college's art and photography classes; the event will encompass a variety of disciplines and subject matter that celebrates the learning experience of the students on the EMCC campus.

A silent art auction will also take place during the event to raise funds for student scholarships.The event is student organized and is an exciting opportunity for students to showcase their work. Jose Rios, president of the EMCC Fashion Club said, "This event is crucial to the learning experience for students that are heading in the direction of the fashion industry or other artistic avenues.
