On Saturday, April 18, 2009, Estrella Mountain Community College (EMCC) and the Hispanic Leadership Forum del Oeste (HLF) co-hosted a Scholarship Golf Tournament at the Wigwam Resort and Spa, raising more than $20,000 to support student scholarships.
The college and HLF have a long-standing partnership that includes a dedicated focus on working with the community and West Valley high schools to address the issues of increased dropout rates of students and a statewide shortage of teachers. Both organizations will share the funds to continue to support these efforts.
