The National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development (NISOD) recognizes individuals at NISOD institutions on an annual basis, honoring higher education's best faculty and staff who have dedicated their careers to excellence in the classroom and innovation outside of the classroom.

This year, Estrella Mountain Community College's faculty members who were nominated to receive NISOD Excellence Awards are Dr. Kathleen Iudicello, division chair, liberal arts; Luvia Rivera, mathematics faculty; and Eddie Zuleger, administration of justice faculty.

Iudicello, Rivera and Zuleger were nominated by their peers at Estrella Mountain Community College. For example, Iudicello was nominated for her "teaching and leadership excellence," Rivera for her "dedication to her students and innovative curriculum," and Zuleger for his "length of service to the college and development of community partnership and internship programs."

These faculty members will be recognized nationally at the 2009 NISOD Conference May 24-27, 2009 to be held at the University of Texas, Austin.
