"Love Your Body" week celebrated

Approximately 80 percent of women in the United States are dissatisfied with their appearance, according to the National Organization for Women (nowfoundation.org). From airbrushed advertisements to the rise of cosmetic surgery, women are now, more than ever, subjected to society’s expectations of what women should look like. Estrella Mountain Community College (EMCC), a Maricopa Community College, will celebrate “Love Your Body Week” with a variety of campus activities that will bring awareness to these social expectations and how women and men can free themselves to learn to love themselves for who they are. All events are free and open to the public.
