Estrella Mountain Community College has hired Amy Torgerson as its new director of early outreach programs. Torgerson has approximately 11 years experience working with at-risk youth in TRIO programs, and comes to Estrella Mountain from Phoenix College. Torgerson has a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Briar Cliff University in Sioux City, and a master’s degree in Community Agency Counseling from the University of Tennessee at Memphis. In her new position, Torgerson will be responsible for providing early outreach programs to students in middle school and high school, including ACE (Achieving a College Education), Jr. ACE, and Hoop of Learning.
