Estrella Mountain Community College’s SouthWest Skill Center will celebrate the completion of 205 students during its completion ceremony on March 5, 2010 at 4:00 p.m. to be held in the Estrella Mountain Community College Ceremonial Plaza.

With a steady growth rate of allied health jobs in Maricopa County, more and more trained professionals are needed in our hospitals and doctor’s offices. Niccole Daine will be one of these professionals when she marks the completion her Practical Nurse program at the SouthWest Skill Center March 5. She plans to work as a Licensed Practical Nurse while she continues her education at Estrella Mountain Community College, in the Registered Nurse program. “It’s been a wonderful experience and I hope anyone who wants to go into nursing goes into this program,” she said of the SouthWest Skill Center. Daine will be a student speaker at the completion ceremony where she will talk about her experience in the program and address her peers – “a tight knit family” as she described them.

The SouthWest Skill Center offers a variety of programs in distribution logistics and allied health which take approximately 6 weeks to 11 months to complete. For additional information about the SouthWest Skill Center, please call 623-535-2700.
