AVONDALE, Arizona – April 1, 2014 – EMCC is proud to announce its recipients of the 2014 National Institute of Staff and Organizational Development (NISOD) Excellence Awards. Honorees include Laura Dulgar, Interim Dean of Student Services, Randy McElroy, Science Laboratory Technician, and Debra Sheldon, Administrative Assistant II, Learning Support Services.

NISOD’s Excellence Awards recognize faculty and staff from colleges across the nation who have demonstrated an outstanding commitment and contribution to their students, colleagues and community.

Nominations were submitted by EMCC Academic Issues Team (AIT) members on behalf of the various divisions and departments. 

“It is an honor for these individuals to be selected by their peers to receive this award.” said Dr. Bryan Tippett, EMCC Vice President of Academic Affairs.  “They will be great representatives of EMCC’s excellent standards of success at the national conference.”

Excellence Award recipients will be celebrated during NISOD’s annual International Conference on Teaching and Leadership Excellence, May 25-28, in Austin, Texas, and will also be listed in a special edition of Community College Week.

Created in 1978, the National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development (NISOD) is a consortium of community and technical colleges that share a commitment to supporting excellence in teaching, learning, and leadership. NISOD supports its member colleges by providing professional development resources and learning experiences, including practitioner publications, webinars, the annual International Conference on Teaching and Leadership Excellence, the NISOD Excellence Awards, and more.
