Classes Offered in Wickenburg

Estrella Mountain Community College (EMCC), a Maricopa Community College, has partnered with the Wickenburg Chamber of Commerce to offer college classes in the Wickenburg area. The eight-week session will be held at Wickenburg High School, located at 1090 South Vulture Mine Road.Get ahead with core classes that are needed to complete a degree and/or transfer to the university.

Classes held during this session, beginning October 20, include:

•ENG 101; First-Year Composition (3 credits); Monday and Wednesday; 6:00 p.m. - 8:40 p.m.
-Emphasis on rhetoric and composition with a focus on expository writing and understanding writing as a process. Establish effective college-level writing strategies through four or more writing projects.

•ACC 111; Accounting Principles I (3 credits); Monday and Wednesday; 6:00 p.m. - 8:40 p.m.
-Fundamental theory of accounting principles and procedures.

•CIS 105; Survey of Computer Information Systems (3 credits); Tuesday and Thursday; 6:00 p.m.
- 8:40 p.m. -Use of word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software.

Students will need to be tested prior to registration. Placement testing will be held at Wickenburg High School October 1 and 2 from 5:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. for English, Math (will be offered in the spring), and Reading. Registration will be held October 8 and 9 at Wickenburg High School from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., or students my register by phone at 623-935-8888. Students will need to bring a valid driver's license or state ID, and check or credit card for tuition payment.
