October is Disability Awareness Month and in recognition of that, Estrella Mountain Community College will host an art exhibition titled, “Portrait of Spirit: One Story at a Time.” Changing perceptions is the primary theme of this exhibition which consists of 25 black and white photographs depicting people with disabilities. The photographs tell the stories of these individuals, highlighting society’s expectations (or lack thereof) for people with disabilities. The exhibition will be available for viewing in Komatke and Estrella Halls.
