Earn a Degree in Nuclear Technology

December 04, 2009

Nearly 57 percent of U.S. technical workers in radiation protection will be eligible to retire in the next five years, which means skilled technicians are in high demand. If your career aspirations include playing an essential role in the safety inside nuclear power plants, your career can begin at Estrella Mountain Community College.

EMCC is offering an Associate of Applied Science in nuclear technology, which provides a significant advantage for entrance into this field.

Enroll now in Radiation Fundamentals (RPT103), a three credit course being offered for the Spring 2010 semester.

This class provides an overview of physics and chemistry of radiation and radioactive materials and a basic understanding of radiation and its uses and interactions.

Prerequisites include Introductory Algebra (MAT092), a satisfactory score on the placement exam or permission of the instructor. The spring 2010 semester is Jan. 19 to May 14. Classes are Tuesdays, 7:00 p.m. - 9:30 p.m
