On April 8, 2010, the Asian Pacific Islander Awareness/International Club and the Veterans Club, came together to coordinate a dinner for the spouses of deployed soldiers held in the Luke Air Force Base Chapel. The group of about 20 students greeted and served more than 100 guests. Dinner guests were introduced to various guest speakers including, Dr. Debbie Kushibab, vice president of student affairs, who spoke about the increase in veteran population on the campus of Estrella Mountain; and John Crawford, who spoke about new scholarship opportunities for family members of those who die in the line of duty.
