Estrella Mountain Community College, in partnership with the Estrella Rotary Foundation, hosted its 11th Annual Car Raffle Scholarship Fundraiser on Tuesday, April 20th. This scholarship fundraiser was introduced to the college in 1999, and has continually benefitted students since its inception. The president of Estrella Rotary, David Harbushka, gave opening remarks for the event, and a welcome address was given by college president, Dr. Ernest Lara. First prize winner, Dr. Paul Dale, won a 2008 Mustang; second prize winner, Marie McAlister won a $1000 cash prize; and third prize winner, Thomas Creager was awarded $500. The event raised $41,610 for student scholarships, making the real winners the students who will benefit from these scholarships.
