“Not Just a Family Matter: Domestic Violence, Policy, Resources and Citizen Advocacy;” October 5

September 17, 2010

Katie Hobbs, director of government relations for the Sojourner Center, will talk about why domestic violence policy should be a state priority; the resources available to those impacted by domestic violence; and how citizens can engage the state legislative process to shape domestic violence policy.  Hobbs has 18 years of experience as a social worker, and in her current position, has helped to grow the Sojourner Center into the largest domestic violence shelter in the United States.  Hobbs will present on Tuesday, October 5 at 10:00 a.m., 11:30 a.m., and 1:00 p.m. in the college's Center for Teaching and Learning.  For additional information, or RSVP, contact Katherine Douglas at 623-680-6644.
