Art Exhibit: Cover Girls: Women Breaking Through the Glossy Page; March 7- 31

March 09, 2011

Featuring the art of Peter Bugg, this exhibit is part a range of events being held on the campus of Estrella Mountain Community College (EMCC) in honor of Women’s History Month. The Women’s History Month activities are intended to call attention to women’s issues and how we all can be a catalyst for change in the way women are represented in media.

Born and raised in Madison, Wisconsin, Bugg studied economics at the University of Chicago as an undergraduate and completed his Master of Fine Arts in Photography at Arizona State University in Tempe. His work was featured in the 2009 Arizona Biennial at the Tucson Museum of Art and, more recently, in the “Open for Business” exhibition at the Arizona State University Art Museum. He teaches photography and creates art work in the Valley of the Sun.

The exhibit is available for viewing in Estrella Hall and Komatke Hall on the EMCC campus. The opening celebration includes an art walk and dessert reception on Tuesday, March 22, from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.  The events are free and open to the public. The college is located at 3000 N. Dysart Road in Avondale.
