Juried Art Show, Arts Week Come to EMCC

April 25, 2011

The annual Estrella Mountain Community College (EMCC) Juried Student Art Show, running until Friday, May 13, features close to 60 works of art from current EMCC students. This year’s theme, “Art as a Bridge,” will explore the unique ability of art to communicate individual experiences and cultural knowledge.

Displays are located in Estrella and Komatke halls. A reception for the artists and art walk guided tour is scheduled for Thursday, May 5, from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. in the Center for Training and Learning. The show is open for public viewing and the public is invited to the reception.

Show entries were judged by members of the college art faculty, and other faculty members with experience or interest in art. For more information, contact Jim Fike at [email protected].
