Outstanding faculty receive awards of recognition

December 10, 2012

EMCC’s 2012-13 award recipients for the National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development (NISOD) were recently announced: Nikol Price, Librarian and Chair of Information Resources, Jennifer Damron, Mathematics Faculty, and Jim Cervan, Administration of Justice Faculty.  These awardees were nominated by peers who felt they demonstrate the NISOD values for teaching and leadership excellence in higher education.  Nominees for the awards were selected through the Academic Issues Team (AIT), and will be travelling to Austin for the NISOD conference in May 2013 where their accomplishments will be celebrated.

Additionally, MCCCD Adjunct Faculty Association recognizes and awards Outstanding Adjunct Faculty each year. The 2012 recipients at EMCC are Cary Peskin, Computer Information Systems, Timothy Ramsey, Reading, and Andrea Simpkins, Psychology. There are 24 Adjunct Faculty recipients throughout the district, and they will be honored at an event on December 11, 2012 among the MCCCD Governing Board, Executive Administration, and college presidents.
