Student Success Fair 2013, March 26-27

March 29, 2013

Estrella Mountain Community College students will have the opportunity to learn and understand what is needed to complete their educational path at EMCC...and have some fun along the way.

Student Success Fair 2013 is designed to help students make a personal commitment to themselves to motivate them to complete their goals, and inspire them to focus on graduation.

Tuesday, March 26 – 9am-1pm & 5-7pm
... Wednesday, March 27 – 9am-1pm

Each student will receive a “Graduation Passport” with their photo taken to personalize. The passport is then used to set their individual completion goals; students determine which resources they need to successfully reach their graduation goal.

During the fair, the resources are grouped by zones; as students visit each zone they gather information relevant to their graduation goals and write the information into their passport. By completing the passport, students receive their FREE "I GRADUATE" T-SHIRT which they can personalize with their own graduation date. Students will keep their passport and use the information after the event as they progress to graduation.

The event helps students determine the tasks that need to be accomplished to efficiently reach their goals, including pre-registration, graduation timelines, course prerequisites and degree requirements. EMCC faculty and staff will be at the event tables to continuously engage students in a dialogue that reinforces goal attainment and college completion. By actively engaging and supporting student success, the event focuses on persistence, completion and the college’s service strategy … “your success is our success”.
