Dr. Debbie Kushibab receives 2013 WLG Award
Lauded for her leadership … innovation … service to women … and service to the Maricopa Community Colleges, Dr. Debbie Kushibab is the 2013 EMCC winner of the Women of Distinction award.
For more than ten years, the Women's Leadership Group/American Association of Women in Community Colleges (WLG/AAWCC) of the Maricopa County Community College District (MCCCD) has honored exceptional women from each of the ten colleges and the district office at its annual spring luncheon. This tradition is rooted in the truism that we don’t often enough publicly recognize achievement.
To be successful, a nominee must go ‘above and beyond’ her immediate job responsibilities – which surely defines Dr. Kushibab, Vice President of Student Affairs, who is respected and valued by the entire campus community.
Dr. Kushibab will join the other MCCCD award recipients at the 15th Annual WLG 2013 Women of Distinction Awards Luncheon on April 24 at Mesa Community College.
All women employed by MCCCD are eligible for this annual award and all employees are encouraged to submit nominations. Each college selects one recipient, determined by consensus of a five-person selection committee that sends its recommendation to the college president for concurrence.
