Student Services Outstanding Service Awards Announced
Debbie Kushibab, VP, Student Affairs, recently announced the Student Services winners for the 2012-2013 academic year.
Excellence Award: Izelle Silva
Izelle has worked tirelessly with faculty, staff, and students to connect academic and occupational programs with careers by hosting Career Days and Job Fairs, providing classroom presentations and working with faculty to support classroom activities that support career exploration. During 2012-13 academic year, she has played a major role in the Engage Estrella mentor program and the Student Success Fair.
Spirit Award: Marianne Rivera, Jason Galaviz and William Chandler
Three employees share the award this year: Marianne Rivera (Financial Aid), Jason Galaviz (Advising) and William Chandler (Enrollment Services). Their teamwork has been critical for the success of the newly improved Telephone Contact Center and the front desk Answer Team, contributing to improved training, protocols and communication.
Friend Award: Clarissa Davis Ragland
Clarissa and those in her division are strong supporters of advisement, and encourage (or require) their students to meet with their cohort advisor regularly. She and her faculty have partnered with the CTC on career panels and presentations, and have been involved in developing some of the internships offered by EMCC.
“These employees have been and continue to be essential to the continued improvement of student services,” said Kushibab.
