January 02, 2014

Dr. Natalie Rivera, EMCC Mathematics Faculty, was the recipient of the 2013 CPED Dissertation in Practice Award for her work Cooperative Learning in a Community College Setting: Developmental Coursework in Mathematics. Nominations for the award were submitted by more than 40 graduate schools. The CPED award committee utilized criteria that distinguish dissertations of scholarly practitioners as work grounded in high quality research with the potential to impact practice in education. Dr. Rivera's work was chosen as exemplar and she was invited to Rutgers University to be formally presented with the award.

Congratulations to Richard Gross and Kristy Miller who were awarded with the designation of Outstanding Adjunct Faculty by the MCCCD Adjunct Faculty Association. They were two of of the 34 recipients accross the ten Maricopa Community Colleges.
