Energy Apprenticeship Career Panel at EMCC, Nov. 5

October 30, 2015

The EMCC Energy Institute will host an Apprenticeship Career Panel in conjunction with National Apprenticeship Week on Thursday, Nov. 5, 2015, from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. in the Estrella Conference Center.

The event will expose students, community members and industry partners to the benefits of a registered apprenticeship program in the form of a moderated panel discussion of energy professionals and current apprentices. The event is free and open to the public, and will be followed by an optional tour of the EMCC  Energy Institute labs.

Attendees will have an opportunity to learn about registered apprenticeship programs, which allow students to receive craft-specific training aligned with classroom instruction.

Registered Apprenticeship Programs are recognized and approved by the State of Arizona. Successful apprentices who have fulfilled the training requirements will receive industry certification and credentials.

EMCC currently partners with Palo Verde Nuclear Generation Station and Tolleson Dairy for apprenticeship training with the college’s Power Plant Technology and Industrial Manufacturing and Emerging Technologies degree programs, respectively.

Arizona Governor Douglas Ducey has proclaimed Nov. 2-8, 2015 as National Apprenticeship Week, an initiative that supports the advancement of a skilled workforce.
