Learn for fun! Estrella Mountain Community College releases spring Community Education noncredit course schedule

EMCC is excited to continue its annual tradition of offering affordable, non-credit classes to the community. These short courses are fun, affordable, and provide an array of opportunities for personal growth, knowledge, and enrichment. The Spring 2017 Schedule of Classes is available for perusal. Class enrollment is now open.

Adults and teens interested in these unique learning opportunities can choose from courses that include art, cooking, photography, music, language, dance, physical fitness, and more. These short-term courses are offered from February through May and class fees range from $29-$159.

These spring semester course roster features some great new editions. In Intro to Forensic Handwriting, students can study the ethics of handwriting analysis, discover the difference between methods, and learn techniques to build a personality profile. Comics & Cartooning helps students bring their comic creations to the page, and teaches techniques that help with speed and detail. Apple Gourd Illumination lets students use different tools and materials to completely transform gourds into apple illuminations.

Kids aren’t excluded from this wonderful opportunity! EMCC’s Kids College, a popular summertime favorite, is offering Fun with Art, a course running from March 8 – April 5 (no class on March 15) for kids ages 6-12. Five one-day sessions are available, from 3:30-5:30 p.m. on Wednesdays. Students will use acrylic and watercolor paints, in addition to learning about gourds and how they can be transformed into different uses. The course promotes creative thinking and the use of the imagination. Each session is $59 plus a $10 fee. Many other classes are also open to teens and young adults. Check the schedule for details.
