For the seventh year, Estrella Mountain Community College (EMCC) is partnering with the Volunteer Individual Tax Assistance (VITA) program, through the IRS and Turn-A-New-Leaf Agency to offer free income tax filings for those who qualify. Many of the volunteers are EMCC students who have completed ACC121: Income Tax Preparation, and have passed a certification exam. Expanding this service to the EMCC Buckeye location increases accessibility for those community members who can use this service.
Tax assistance will be available through Monday, April 17, 2017.
Locations and hours:
- Avondale campus on Fridays through April 14, from 12:00-3:00 p.m. and Saturdays through April 15 from 9:00 a.m.- 1 p.m. – EMCC Main Campus is closed on March 17 and 18.
- Buckeye Educational Center on Mondays through April 17 from 1:00-4:00 p.m. and Thursdays through April 13 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. – Buckeye Campus is closed on Feb. 20 and March 17.
