EMCC Co-hosts Veterans Day Ceremony and Fun Run

AVONDALE, ARIZONA, November 2 –  Estrella Mountain Community College (EMCC) and the City of Avondale will host a Veterans Day Ceremony and family-friendly 5K fun run on Sunday, November 11, 2018, at the EMCC Avondale campus.  There will boot camp obstacles throughout the event.  Bootcamp stations include ammo can lifts, tire flipping and more, all concluding with an awesome dummy grenade toss.   The 5K fun run is appropriate for all fitness levels. Participants can move at their own pace and boot camp stations can be easily bypassed.  This fun-filled event includes a Kid Zone, giveaways, and entertainment.

8:00 am - 11:00 am

Location: Estrella Mountain Community College 3000 N. Dysart Road

Cost: FREE registration for ALL military and veterans

$35 registration fee includes a commemorative run shirt, swag bag, and complimentary Warrior's Breakfast.

Why: All proceeds directly support the Veterans Increasing Persistence Program (VIPP). This new Estrella Mountain Community College program is designed to assist veterans experiencing financial hardships that may prevent them from attending college or completing a degree.

0815 - Warm-Up Stretches with Cross Fit Fury

0830 - Run Start.

0900 - Warrior's Breakfast

0930 - Veterans Day Ceremony
